The ideal candidate for this position is working towards a computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering degree and is a 3rd or 4th year student. The candidate will be responsible for executing tests on ThingMagic products. In addition, the candidate will be expected to suggest and integrate improvements into the test software. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating a database of test results. At the completion of the internship the candidate will have been exposed to and improved their skills in the following areas:
- Automating test scripts
- Creating tools to normalize data for database insertion
- Creating scripts to interact with laboratory equipment and the results database
- Executing performance tests and deriving new performance metrics from test data
Skills Required:
Knowledge of at least one of the following programming or scripting languages
- National Instruments LabVIEW
- Python
- LRuby
- C/C++
- PHP / MySQL or other database experience
Familiarity with RF and/or digital test equipment
- Spectrum Analyzers
- Signal Generators
- Power Meters
- Oscilloscopes
Ability to work independently
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Minimum GPA - 3.0/4.0

ThingMagic is looking for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to manage some aspects of its outsourced manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a small, entrepreneurial environment with an ability to work on multiple, ongoing projects. An ability to work independently but as part of a team is required.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing assembly process development with CM
- Mechanical supplier management (i.e. NEFM, Techprint, etc.)
- Address mechanical tolerance stack-up issues
- Define product structure including country specific kits
- BOM verification of mechanical assemblies
- Define receiving inspection process
- Disposition of MRB materials (i.e. RTV, Scrap, Rework, Use, etc.)
- Manufacturing visual aid development
- Define process for OEM and third party requirements
- Manage labeling requirements and supplier management
- Define packaging & labeling requirements and manage drop testing
- Manage process verification test through corrective actions with CM
- Define and manage corrective action process
- Write manufacturing plans based on product life cycle process
Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Equivalent
- 8-10 years experience in Electrical or Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
- Must be hands-on, motivated and willing to cross functional boundaries
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications
- CAD experience a plus
- Agile Anywhere usage and familiarity a plus

Are you a systems engineer that gets his hands dirty? Or a hardware engineer that writes white papers? Are you willing to follow engineering problems to their ultimate conclusion?
The ideal candidate possesses an electrical engineering degree and has 8+ years experience. ThingMagic, being (currently) not a large company, requires its members to be multifaceted, flexible, and able to learn new skills. It requires its members to follow the design issues to wherever they lead. As such, the technical skills required are competence in a significant fraction of the following topics:
- Gain budgets, noise figure, cascade analysis.
- Signal to noise issues, detectability, bit error rates, message error rates.
- Intercept points and spectrum regrowth.
- Filter design issues in various implementations.
- Power supply design, power budgets, closed loop stability, transient response.
- Analog to digital conversion and vice versa.
- Signal processing algorithms, Fourier analysis, numerical DSP methods.
- Processing load estimates for device selection.
- Error correcting codes and encryption methods.
- Test equipment of various types for the RF and digital domains, programming of same.
- Programming in one or more common languages.
- Analog and digital hardware design; schematic capture and physical layout.
These technical skills must be both practical and expository in nature. The ability to relate physical observations and measurements to theoretical explanations, and conversely, the development and conversion of paper design budgets to hardware implementation are both required. To facilitate these technical skills, the following additional skills are needed:
- Ability to work independently in a small, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to work on multiple projects within set deadlines.
- Documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team.

The Sales Director is an individual contributor role that will be responsible for creating and maximizing revenue opportunities within a defined geographic region or market segment.

The responsibilities of the Engineering Technician include:
- Building in-house prototype assemblies
- Building manufacturing test fixtures
- Performing functional PC board and system level testing
- Diagnosing functional PCB failures to the component level
- Performing data collection, reporting, and corrective action suggestions
- Managing calibration of all in-house testing equipment
- Performing some PC board repair and rework
Skills Required:
- Minimum AAS in Electrical Technology
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Ability to hand solder and rework surface mount components on fine pitch PCB’s
- Must have basic mechanical assembly skills
- Must have working knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers & DVM’s
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar capacity
- Solid experience with basic office computer applications (spreadsheets, word processors)
- Must be very hands-on, detail-oriented, motivated and willing to help in all areas
